Paul Merson has given his verdict on Liverpool and England international right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit has been hugely impressed with Alexander-Arnold.
So, what has Paul Merson said about Trent Alexander-Arnold? Let’s take a look.
Paul Merson amazed by Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold
Well, Liverpool will take on Manchester United at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to start. The right-back is one of the first names on the Liverpool teamsheet.
It will be interesting to see how Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp uses Alexander-Arnold against Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has played in midfield, but it is likely that he will start at right-back against Erik ten Hag’s side, who could suffer yet another defeat at Anfield.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has been looking ahead to the match, and he has been raving about Alexander-Arnold.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that the 25-year-old is the best passer of the ball in the Premier League.
Merson said about Alexander-Arnold on Sky Sports News (1:37 pm, December 16, 2023): “I have always said. I personally think he is the best passer of the ball in the Premier League. I think from two yards to 60 yards, he is the best in the business.”
The pundit added: “I think he is a phenomenal passer of the ball.”
Former Crystal Palace forward Clinton Morrison said: “He is an outstanding talent. He is one of the best passers there around, not just in the Premier League but in world football.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is world class
In my view, Trent Alexander-Arnold is a world-class player. Yes, the Liverpool right-back needs to improve defensively, but as an overall package, he is one of the best out there.
Alexander-Arnold is a brilliant passer of the ball and is also very good at set-pieces. Not many right-backs can seamlessly fit into midfield.
What is scary about the Liverpool and England international is that he is only 25. He is still developing and progressing as a player.
Just imagine how good Alexander-Arnold will be at his peak. It is just scary to think just what the Englishman will be doing when he is 28 or 29.
Alexander-Arnold has made 212 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The right-back has scored 14 goals, given 56 assists and kept 66 clean sheets in those games.
