Arsenal fans will be pleased with how their team has fared so far this season as the international break gets under way.
The Gunners sit third in the Premier League table, are doing well in the Champions League, and are in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Despite falling short twice in a row in the title race, Arsenal remain as hungry as ever in pursuit of glory, thanks to the superb squad Mikel Arteta and Edu has put together.
Now, Paul Merson has waxed lyrical about a Gunners player who plays “light-years ahead of his time” and “comes up with solutions all the time”.

Paul Merson says Arsenal star Bukayo Saka ‘comes up with solutions all the time’
The player in question is Bukayo Saka, who continues to go from strength to strength for Arsenal and for England.
At just 23 years of age, Saka has already clocked up 236 appearances for the Gunners, also registering 61 goals and 60 assists.
He also has 42 caps for England, along with 12 goals and seven assists, and has appeared in two major tournament finals (Euro 2020 and Euro 2024).
Now, with England set to take on Greece and Finland in the Nations League, Merson has given his verdict on Saka.
He wrote on Sky Sports: “Someone like Bukayo Saka’s playing against 10 at the back week-in and week-out, and he’s still performing.
“He’s been where (Cole) Palmer is for a couple of years and is still finding solutions.
“That’s what you have to do if you want to stay at the top. Teams get smart to you and you’ve got to be one ahead again, and he’s done that.
“It’s like Scotland having two of the best left-backs last year, Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney.
“Saka’s very, very consistent. He plays light-years ahead of his time. He’s been at the top for a while now, it’s not like people are just trying to work him out. He just comes up with solutions all the time.
“They have a system to play which gets Saka time on the ball. He doesn’t get it with five players round him, he gets it in space and that’s top management from Mikel Arteta.”
Future is bright for Saka at Arsenal and with England
Saka is an “amazing” player who symbolises Arteta’s Arsenal and is key to their hopes of glory.
He is also a star for England and has helped them come closer to glory than ever before in the past 58 years.
It’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop and, hopefully, will be able to lift the biggest trophies along with his Arsenal and England teammates.
When do Arsenal play next?
Arsenal return to action after the international break when they head to Bournemouth for a Premier League fixture scheduled for 5:30pm on Saturday 19 October.
