Paul Merson has made an intriguing prediction as Arsenal turn their attention to that mouthwatering clash with Manchester City at the end of the month.
The Premier League title race remains absolutely enthralling. For the first time in a long time, the race between three teams looks set to go right down to the wire.
Arsenal currently sit at the top of the table after their win over Brentford on Saturday. Meanwhile, Manchester City just about got themselves a draw from Liverpool at Anfield the following day.
Paul Merson cannot see Arsenal beating Manchester City
The league games do not get any easier for Pep Guardiola’s side. Manchester City’s first game after the international break is against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

A deflected Gabriel Martinelli goal gave the Gunners the victory and the three points at the Emirates earlier this season in what felt like a massive moment for Mikel Arteta’s side after the events of last season.
Arsenal have also not dropped a point in the league since the turn of the year. And they will now not play again until that game at City.
Nevertheless, Paul Merson told Sky Sports that he does not see Arsenal continuing their flawless form.
“I just can’t see Arsenal winning at Manchester City,” he said.
“Even if they drew there they’ve still got to play Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villa.
“It’s an unbelievable title race but it can change very quickly. If Arsenal didn’t score vs Brentford then they could’ve been out of the race. If Liverpool didn’t score against Forest, then all of a sudden they’re out of it. It can change so quickly.”
Avoiding defeat would be another step in the right direction
A point at City is certainly not a bad result for Arsenal. Ultimately, going unbeaten against the champions this season is a real statement given the results against them last season.
And there are likely to be a few more twists before the destination of the title is decided – even when all three sides are barely making a mistake right now.
