Paul Ince believes Marcus Rashford needs to leave Manchester United in search of a fresh challenge.

It’s fair to say that Marcus Rashford hasn’t been at his best this term in what has been an underwhelming campaign for Manchester United

The 26-year-old has managed seven goals and three assists in the Premier League, which represents a significant drop-off from the last campaign.

Indeed, just last season, Rashford managed 17 goals and five assists in the league in Erik ten Hag’s debut campaign.

There were also claims earlier this month that Rashford and Ten Hag are not on the best terms, leading to speculation over his future at Old Trafford.

Now, Paul Ince has claimed that the Englishman needs a new challenge and should leave United.

Speaking on Up Front with Simon Jordan, Ince discussed Rashford’s future.

“He looks out of sorts, it looks like it’s a lack of confidence,” the former United man said.

“Marcus Rashford, like Jesse Lingard, I personally think he needs to go away. He needs another challenge. I honestly believe that.”

Rashford has put in some improved performances of late. But there is no doubt that the forward is still way below his best.

The England international has netted in each of his last two games for the Red Devils, including a stunning goal at the Etihad Stadium.

Yet, he’s currently in danger of losing his place in Gareth Southgate’s starting XI ahead of the Euros this summer.

Of course, Ten Hag’s future is also in doubt so it remains unclear whether or not a fresh face could be in the dugout at Old Trafford this summer.

It will be intriguing to see how Rashford’s future plays out, particularly with uncertainty surrounding Ten Hag’s position.

Despite some brilliant spells in a United shirt, Rashford hasn’t lived up to his potential in Manchester and a move may well be exactly what he needs to kickstart his career.
