Manchester City are now 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table following their 17th consecutive win in all competitions on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s charges ran out 3-1 winners over Everton at Goodison Park for their 12th straight league win.

Phil Foden opened the scoring on 32 minutes with a right-footed effort that hit Seamus Coleman en route to the back of the net.

Richarlison equalised five minutes later and the score was 1-1 going into the break, but City hit back with two more goals in the second half to secure all three points.

Riyad Mahrez curled home a superb strike just after the hour and Bernardo Silva fired a powerful effort into the top corner of Jordan Pickford’s net on 77 minutes.

City are looking unstoppable at present, while their title rivals have floundered in recent weeks.

Club legend Paul Dickov took to Twitter with a message to those teams, namely “mind the gap”:

While fellow City great Kevin Horlock poked fun at Everton following City’s win on Merseyside:

Up next for City is Sunday’s trip to Arsenal in the Premier League, before a return to Champions League action on Wednesday with the last-16 first leg against Borussia Monchengladbach.
