Leeds United star Stuart Dallas has been praised by BBC Sport pundit Paul Dickov for his performance in the Whites’ Premier League victory at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The Whites recorded an incredible 2-1 victory at Manchester City in the day’s early Premier League kickoff, despite being reduced to ten men.
And Dallas played a huge part in this historic win against the champions-elect with both of his side’s goals.
The Northern Irishman opened the scoring in the 42nd minute when he connected with Patrick Bamford’s layoff to fire home via the woodwork.
However, Leeds found themselves a man down after Liam Cooper was sent off for a lunge on Gabriel Jesus, and Ferran Torres went on to draw his side level in the second half.
Marcelo Bielsa’s charges didn’t let their heads drop and, in injury time, Dallas came to the rescue again.
Ezgjan Alioski played a superb through-ball to his teammate, who raced towards goal under pressure from John Stones and Fernandinho, and duly slotted past Ederson.
“All credit to Leeds United and to Stuart Dallas,” Dickov said on BBC Final Score (14:27).
“The amount of work he has got through today has been phenomenal, he hasn’t stopped.
“He’s been defending for almost 90% of this second half and he sees an opening and what a great finish past Ederson.”
Dallas now has seven goals and two assists from 31 Premier League this season, while his overall tally for the club reads 223 games, 26 goals and 17 assists.
Up next for Leeds is a Premier League home game against Liverpool a week on Monday.
