Leeds United allowed Paudie O’Connor to complete a permanent move to Bradford City this summer. The Irish youngster spent the second half of last season on loan with the Bantams and he has now signed a three-year deal at the club.
O’Connor has now been speaking to the Telegraph and Argus about his move to Valley Parade. He commented on a ‘stop-start’ 2018-19 season as he looks to start afresh at Bradford.
“It was a bit stop-start last year. I started off at Leeds but went out on loan to gain experience.
“It has settled down and it is good to get a three-year contract as they aren’t given out very easily.”
O’Connor, signed from Limerick by Leeds in 2017, looked like becoming a potential first-team regular at Elland Road. The 21-year-old played four times for Leeds in the 2017-18 campaign.

However, the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa seemed to spell the end for O’Connor. The Argentine simply did not rate the player and he was allowed to head out on loan to Blackpool initially, before heading to Bradford in January.
Whilst some Leeds fans were disappointed to see O’Connor leave, he never truly looked up to the level necessary to take Leeds to the next level.
In League Two he should be able to flourish under a manager in Gary Bowyer who is clearly a big fan.
Leeds fans will no doubt wish him all the best at Valley Parade.
