Everton are interested in signing AS Roma striker Patrik Schick, according to Tutto Mercato.
The Czech Republic international is viewed as disposable by the Italian outfit, and could be available for around £20 million.
That would see Roma make a loss on the player, who pitched up at Stadio Olimpico in a £30 million deal from Sampdoria in 2018, after an initial loan move.
Schick has largely struggled to make an impression since making his move permanent, often playing second fiddle to Edin Dzeko.
Apparently that hasn’t put Everton off though, who want to bolster their attacking options.
The fact that Everton are reportedly targeting a player who has managed just eight goals in 53 appearances must set alarm bells ringing for Cenk Tosun.
The Turkey international made a bright start to life at Goodison Park after being signed by Sam Allardyce, but he has struggled to earn Marco Silva’s trust in 2018/19.
He has been fighting a losing battle with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and has made just 10 starts in all competitions.
He recently reiterated his commitment to the club, telling Sabah (quoted by Goal): “I still have a three-and-a-half-year contract with Everton and I want to continue in Europe. My aim is to play more.”
But the Schick links must come as a blow. The youngster is physically similar to Tosun, suggesting that any move would spell the end of the former Beskitas man.
