Patrick Bamford takes to Twitter to vent Leeds United frustrations at Wolves loss

Leeds United star Patrick Bamford was a seriously unhappy footballer last night as he had a goal disallowed in 1-0 loss at Wolves.

The Whites striker thought he had equalised, only to see VAR rule his effort out for mere millimetres in an offside call.

Wolves did enough then to hang onto their lead and secure all three points, despite Leeds creating a number of big moments which could and should have led to an equalising goal for the away side.

And after the game, Bamford was clearly not happy with the VAR decision, as he took to Twitter to vent his frustrations.

VAR has caused problems all season and created even more discussion point among supporters and players than it was ever intended to do.

Bamford, then, is the latest in a long line of players to have a moan about the system, with his ‘making the game better’ comment showing the sarcasm in his tone.

Leeds will need to dust themselves down and get ready to go again as they face Southampton in a few days’ time looking to bounce back.

TBR View: Bamford in his rights to complain but by law, VAR was right

And that is the problem really with VAR. It applies everything by the letter of the law no matter how fine the margin.

Nobody would have complained last night if VAR wasn’t around and Bamford’s goal was given. Likewise, few would have said too much if he’d been given offside either.

Bamford needs to let it go and move on here but the frustration is understandable, given we end up speaking about VAR most weeks.
