Patrick Bamford shares just how good Tottenham star Harry Kane is in training

Patrick Bamford has told TalkSPORT that Tottenham star Harry Kane has impressed him in England training – and he can learn from the Spurs ace.

Bamford, who turns 28 on Sunday, has finally got himself into the England squad after 25 goal involvements in the Premier League last season.

The Leeds ace netted 17 goals, laying on eight assists in the league. Gareth Southgate has now decided to give him a chance in the England side.

Kane and Bamford are the only two recognised strikers in England’s squad over the next fortnight – with Everton’s Dom Calvert-Lewin injury.

Is Alex Ferguson To Blame For Manchester United's Demise?

Leeds star Bamford spoke about comparisons in style of play with Kane. He explains how he has been impressed with the Tottenham star in training.

“I’ve not really modelled my game on Harry,” Bamford said. “For me, he’s the best striker in the world as an out-and-out no.9.

“There are aspects where I look up to him and see where I can improve. In training, I saw how crisp his contacts with the ball is when finishing.

“I don’t know if our game is as similar as people make out. I run in behind a lot more. But there are definitely things I can learn from him.”

Bamford on Kane: Could Tottenham star help Leeds going forward?

Bamford is a brilliant striker. Last season, 17 goals and eight assists in the Premier League – his first full season in the top tier – is impressive.

But the uncapped Englishman still has areas in which he can improve. His finishing can certainly improve – he can learn from Kane.

If Kane can pass on his wisdom to Bamford in England training over the next fortnight – then surely, Kane actually ends up helping Leeds?

Bamford is likely to get his first England cap over the next couple of weeks as England take on Hungary, Andorra and Poland in World Cup qualifiers.
