Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has claimed that teammate Illan Meslier can reach the very top level of the game.
Meslier, who cost the Whites £5million (Yorkshire Evening Post), has been one of the ever-presents this season in Marcelo Bielsa’s XI.
The 21-year-old is a superb young goalkeeper that missed one league match through injury in January, but apart from that he’s had 10 clean sheets in 33 Premier League appearances.
He’s a 6ft 4in colossus in net that is so dominant with anything aerial into his box. Additionally, he’s crucial when the team want to play out from the back with the way he’s comfortable in possession.
The Frenchman has found it very easy adjusting to life in the top division.
Bamford has given an insight into how much quality Leeds’ number one actually has, predicting huge things in the future from him.
“I think he can go to the top,” Bamford told Sky Sports about teammate Meslier.
“If you look at French goalkeepers, I think after [Hugo] Lloris, there are probably not many who are doing what he’s doing at the level he’s doing it at.
“He’s still young. He’s very good, and he knows how good he is. He’s always working to improve, so I think he can definitely get to the top and stay there for a good while.”

TBR’s View:
Meslier has surely got to be one of Leeds’ best signings in recent years, as his valuation must have multiplied so many times from the £5million they grabbed him for.
He’s pulled off some eye-catching saves throughout the campaign, and the biggest compliment is that he’s someone that the defenders in front of him never have to worry about.
If you consider he’s still only 21, then it’s frightening how good he can become a few years further down the line.
