Patrick Bamford has admitted to Sky Sports (broadcast on 19/4; 22:02) that he was annoyed with himself following Leeds United’s draw with Liverpool on Monday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side drew 1-1 with the champions at Elland Road. It appeared that it may be a long night for the Whites as the Reds went ahead in the first-half.

But Leeds responded superbly after the break. And they got their rewards late on with Diego Llorente scoring an equaliser for the home side at stoppage-time loomed.
It was another positive night for Leeds. But Bamford – who earns £35,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – seemed to have one of those days in front of goal. Alisson saved a one-on-one in the first 45 minutes, while the striker hit the bar after the break.

And he did concede that he did begin to doubt during the game whether he would ever score against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
“I did start to question it,” he told Sky Sports, when asked whether he started to wonder whether it would not be his night after he hit the bar. “I was frustrated as well, I thought Ty should have squared me the ball. I’m annoyed with myself that I haven’t scored tonight.
When asked about the first-half chance: “I took a touch and thought I had time to pick a spot, but next time I looked the keeper was out on me so it was good ‘keeping. But I should have scored.”
There seemed to be a lot about Bamford’s game to like on Monday. He won a number of challenges in the air, and often found a teammate when the ball was played up to him.
He was unable to add to his tally of 14 goals and seven assists. But it should come as no surprise if both numbers increase considerably in the final weeks of the campaign.
