Patrick Bamford was left amazed on Twitter following the Leeds United support for their Under-18s team on Wednesday night.

The Whites claimed on their official Twitter account that 1,400 fans are in the away end at Old Trafford to watch the club’s youth team compete.

Leeds’ Under-18s side are playing away to Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup and have been extremely well supported.

Senior Leeds striker Bamford was stunned on social media after hearing of the club’s away attendance and posted a message about the fans.

“Wow, some club, some set of fans,” Bamford wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

The insane turnout for an Under-18s away match from Leeds fans is exactly the kind of reason that neutrals want to see the Yorkshire club finally back in the top-flight, as they carry an incredible fanbase and would add something special to the Premier League.

There has been a great amount of talent come through the youth ranks in recent years at Elland Road, with Kalvin Phillips the most shining example of that.

But Leeds still have plenty of work to do to get promoted from the Championship, as they currently sit second in the league table and have lost three of their last four league matches.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team simply have to get over the line for promotion this season, as they have been in pole position up to now and can’t afford to waste it again.
