Patrick Bamford reacts after Leeds stayed up on final day of the season
Patrick Bamford has posted his reaction on Twitter after Leeds United stayed up on the final day of the Premier League season with a dramatic victory over Brentford.
Leeds were big outsiders to preserve their Premier League status on Sunday. Jesse Marsch’s side needed to better Burnley’s result to get themselves above the Clarets.
Newcastle did their bit at Turf Moor. They went 2-0 up on the hour mark. Meanwhile, Leeds went in front through Raphinha’s penalty.
However, any hopes of a comfortable final 15 minutes were dashed. Burnley got one back. And Brentford were able to equalise. At that stage, Leeds were one goal away from going down.
The fourth goal at Burnley never came. And Jack Harrison smashed home in stoppage-time to give Leeds the win they needed.
Unsurprisingly, there were remarkable scenes at full-time with the away end at Brentford forced into a frenzy. It was the kind of scenes that Leeds players, fans and staff will never forget.
Unfortunately, one key member of the squad missed out on the celebrations. Bamford was absent despite hopes that he may be ready to return for the last game of the campaign.
The striker missed out due to Covid. However, he was quick to post his reaction to the result on Twitter…
Wow 😍😍😍 this team 🔥🔥 #alaw

Bamford reaction as Leeds stayed up
It was a result that Leeds fans will have probably not allowed themselves to think about. Heading up to kick-off, it appeared that the Whites’ hopes of survival were bleak at best.
Burnley have been brilliant of late. And Leeds had been dragged right back into it. But when they needed to produce a big performance, the Whites stepped up.
It could be a massive moment for the club if they capitalise this summer. Certainly, they will hope Bamford is much more fortunate next season.
