Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has been chatting all things Leeds today and has praised the personality of defender, Diego Llorente.
Llorente had a torrid time of things at periods last season after making a big-money move to the Premier League from Spain. The Whites paid around £18m to sign Llorente, and along with Robin Koch, there has been some questionable moments.

However, speaking about Llorente today, striker Bamford says he’s noticed something different about the Spaniard this summer which should help the Leeds squad in general.
“Diego. He wasn’t super chatty, on the pitch he was, but this year he’s like a different guy almost!,” Bamford told the Leeds United podcast.
“It’s like a weight has been lifted. Part of it for him was coming to a new club and he had a few injuries, then we were in a tough situation for almost all of last year, and we had the Covid situation which didn’t allow for team bonding”.
Llorente has played 90 minutes in both Leeds’ games this season in the Premier League, where he’s helped Jesse Marsch’s side to an unbeaten start.
TBR’s View: Llorente Can Be A Star For Leeds
You aren’t a regular in the Spain squad if you don’t have a bit about you and Diego Llorente is certainly a quality player who can produce the goods for Leeds.
Bamford’s comments on his teammate are interesting here. It suggests a more relaxed Diego Llorente and in turn, that should help him on the pitch for Leeds.
Llorente is a quality defender and with the energy Leeds have added to the squad this summer he could be in for a very good season. And given the Whites lost Kalvin Phillips, Llorente will need to be on top his game you feel.
