Leeds United centre-forward Patrick Bamford has explained he can see himself settling down at Elland Road and is loving life in Yorkshire.
The Englishman joined the Whites in July 2018 for a deal worth up to £10million (BBC) and been a decent option under manager Marcelo Bielsa.
He scored 10 times in just 25 games across all competitions last season, with a spate of injuries disrupting his year in the Championship.
With Kemar Roofe exiting in the summer, the burden has fallen on him as the first-choice striker and he’s stepped up well so far.
The 26-year-old has been leading the line effectively with his tireless work-rate, plus he’s weighed in with four goals and one assist in seven games across all competitions.
Bamford has been at nine different clubs so far in his career, but he appears open to staying at Leeds for the foreseeable future.
He is under contract at Elland Road until 2022 and currently playing a crucial role in the Championship, as the club aim for promotion this season.
“I don’t see why not,” Bamford explained to the Yorkshire Evening Post about staying at Elland Road for the long, long term.
“Being so settled is nice. It is something that I had always wanted, I had always wanted to be the main No 9 somewhere, to get that chance and to get settled and it’s a nice place to settle in to be honest.
“It’s the perfect club, it’s got everything. I think my sole focus this year is just to help us get promoted and score as many goals as I can and then hopefully when we are in the Premier League set new targets and see what we can achieve.”

TBR’s View:
Bamford has a decent return of 14 goals in 32 games during his Leeds career and it’s perhaps about time he’s welcomed in as a real fans’ favourite.
He’s currently performing well enough to keep exciting Arsenal loanee out of the starting XI in the league and is a real attacking threat.
There are some sceptics that may point towards some inconsistency in front of goal, but he’s still going to chip in with plenty if he gets a full season under his belt and importantly is a real team player.
Bamford has managed to adapt to the demands from Bielsa and certainly puts in a shift when he leads the line by himself.
Leeds have had some memorable strikers over the years and Bamford should be held in high regard if he can help fire a promotion bid.
