Patrick Bamford and Ryan Sessegnon lead Dele Alli praise for Spurs wonder goal

Dele Alli scored a wonder goal tonight for Spurs as they saw off Wolfsberger in Europa League action to comfortably advance to the next round.

Alli’s stunning overhead kick was the icing on the cake for a fine performance from the England man. Along with Gareth Bale, Alli’s performance will have been a big boost for Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

Carlos Vinicius also got himself on the scoresheet as the club’s squad players made the most of the opportunity given to them.

But it was the goal from Alli which caught the attention of fans and, it seems, current professionals in the game. Twitter was awash with comments praising the overhead kick from Dele, with both Patrick Bamford and Ryan Sessegnon among the players to laud the goal.

It certainly was a moment of sheer class from Alli. Remarkably, it followed on from Olivier Giroud scoring a similar effort for Chelsea last night.

Spurs fans, and Mourinho, will be hoping this could be the start of an upturn in form from Dele Alli as the season enters its final months.
