Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross has opened up on the recent transfer speculation that linked him with a move to Liverpool.
The German playmaker was reportedly the subject of interest from the Reds back in December (The Mirror), but the Premier League title-chasers opted not to swoop for £15 million in the January window.

Gross caught the eye during his debut campaign for Brighton following his snip £3 million move from Ingolstadt in the summer of 2017.
In his first season he recorded seven goals and eight assists and won the Seagulls’ Player of the Year award.
2018/19 has been a bit more challenging for Gross, who missed a couple of months early on with an ankle injury.

So far he’s made 19 appearances and scored just twice and made three assists – but it is thought Liverpool are still watching him.
Of the transfer links, Gross told Goal: “Of course it is an honour when such rumours arise, but I have not heard anything concrete.”
TBR’s view
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will explore the possibility of signing Gross this summer.
It hasn’t been a good season for the German, but he showed what he can do in 2017/18.

Liverpool signed Xherdan Shaqiri for £13 million last summer (BBC Sport), suggesting they are partial to making smaller outlays for potential bargains.
And of course it would be a brilliant move for Gross, especially since Jurgen Klopp knows the player from their time in the Bundesliga.
