Pascal Chimbonda makes Cristian Romero prediction after Spurs announcement

Pascal Chimbonha has reacted to Spurs’ announcement on Instagram that the club have signed Cristian Romero by predicting that the defender can become one of the Premier League’s best.

Tottenham have continued to impress in this window. Fabio Paratici had already brought in the likes of Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini when it was announced on Friday that Romero has also signed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is initially a loan. Tottenham will pay Atalanta around £47 million next summer.

It is an incredibly exciting deal from Spurs. Romero was named Serie A’s best defender last season.

He also went on to win the Copa America with Argentina. The 23-year-old was subsequently named in the competition’s Team of the Tournament.

Fans will have high hopes for the youngster. But Chimbonda has suggested that he will be up to the task.

Paratici needs to sign at least one new striker. And Tottenham fans will be hoping that Romero is not the last defender to come through the door.

But they are in a good place. Like Romero, Gil looks to have the potential to be a seriously exciting player.

And Gollini impressed many fans with his display against Chelsea in midweek.
