The Spurs managing director also responded to questions regarding the January window, and if a budget had been discussed.

“I worked with Antonio before. I know him very well; a hard worker. A lot of passion, knowledge, one of the best coaches in the world,” Paratici said.

“Must work hard and be committed. We don’t speak about players [or January] until now. We have to be focused on our team.

“I think the team is competitive. We have very good players so we don’t speak about players now. Not the right time.”

In terms of Conte, Paratici sums up what Tottenham fans will get – a hard-working gaffer, with tactical nous. That will be reflected in the squad.

Tottenham’s players are expected to up their work rate. Currently, the Spurs players sit bottom of the running stats in the Premier League, 20th place.

That will change, with reports already stating that the first training session he saw – was spiced with much greater intensity.

For January, there is no way Conte would have joined without assurances in regards to the next two windows. Money will be spent.
