Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The Telegraph claimed earlier this month that Spurs had set their sights on the 22-year-old.

The outlet claims Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is eager to bring in a new centre-back.

Bastoni played under Conte at the San Siro, and a reunion could well be on the cards.

The Italy international isn’t just a top defender – he’s impressive in the final third too.

Journalist Conor Clancy, writing on GiveMeSport, highlighted two of Bastoni’s recent contributions.

“He is technically brilliant,” he wrote of the £26million signing from Atalanta.

“We saw in Inter’s game against Lazio last month, he scored a gorgeous goal, like something Luka Modric would do from the edge of the box.

“(He) then put in a cross, against like Toni Kroos would do, for Skriniar’s winner.”

Could Conte factor sway Bastoni?

Bastoni has already achieved so much despite being just 22.

He has made over 100 competitive appearances for Inter and has won nine caps for Italy.

In addition, Bastoni already has a Serie A title, an Italian Super Cup and a Euro 2020 winner’s medal.

His contract expires in 2024, so Inter’s hand would be fairly strong in negotiations.

And a January report in Tuttosport – via Sempre Inter – claimed not even £50million would tempt the Italians.

However, Spurs have an ace up their sleeve in the form of Conte.

Bastoni won the Scudetto under the Italian coach, so you’d think the prospect of linking up again would be tempting.

Let’s see what happens this summer – could Conte turn Bastoni’s head?
