Spurs are reportedly planning to make an offer for Matthew Hoppe in the coming days.
According to 90min.de, Tottenham are one of several Premier League teams preparing a bid for the Schalke striker.
If the report is true, Spurs fans should be thrilled, because Hoppe is a top talent.

The 20-year-old has already been called up to the United States senior team, making the bench for the Switzerland friendly in May.
At club level, Hoppe rose to prominence in early 2021 with a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim.
This sparked a run of five goals in just three games, and Hoppe finished the season with six strikes and an assist from 22 games.
It’s extremely unlikely that the 6ft 3in striker will remain at Schalke, given their relegation from the Bundesliga.
And given their purported financial issues, they could potentially cash in on Hoppe for as little as £4million.

Why should Spurs fans be excited about Hoppe?
At just 20, Hoppe has shown he has what it takes to do well in a top league like the Bundesliga.
His stats are impressive when you consider just how bad Schalke were last season.
The Bundesliga website has compared him to none other than Robert Lewandowski.
“Ok, admittedly Hoppe still has a long way to go before reaching the same kind of level as the Bayern Munich hitman,” they wrote. “But he has all the fundamental attributes to do so.
“Tall and lithe but with a strong frame, the American has a knack of losing his marker at just the right time, his clever movement creating pockets of space inside the penalty area.

“Although predominantly right-footed, he can also score with his left, with his head and from outside the box.
“The teen talent was called up to first-team training for the first time in November 2020.
“And his time rubbing shoulders with the pros has already helped him progress in Lewy-esque leaps and bounds.”
Sean McCafferty, academy director at Barcelona USA, said of their former player: “He’s of the highest level”.
And former Schalke boss Christian Gross said Hoppe is “unbelievably ambitious, has tremendous commitment” and is a “model professional”.
