Paraag Marathe has told The Telegraph that he has never seen anything like the passion Leeds United fans have shown down the years, and insisted that the club’s goal is to contend for the European places in the future.
The San Francisco 49ers have only known happier times since becoming officially involved at Elland Road in 2018. Shortly after their arrival, Marcelo Bielsa was appointed.

Now just over two years later, Leeds are considered one of the most exciting teams in the Premier League. They have taken seven points from their first five games, and given both Liverpool and Manchester City a real scare along the way.
There is certainly a sense that Leeds are still some way off reaching whatever their ceiling may be.
The Telegraph reports that the 49ers are in talks with Andrea Radrizzani over potentially increasing their stake in Leeds.

And Marathe shed light on what it was that impressed him so much in the years before he became involved in the club. Meanwhile, he also set out what his hopes for the Whites are.
“Leeds had fallen so far and so hard, down to the second and then the third division, yet the fans had shown such tremendous passion – I had never seen anything like it,” he told The Telegraph.
“We can help the club stay there [in the Premier League] and to compete to [qualify] for the European championships [competitions]. That’s the goal. I don’t want to call it a chip on my shoulder, but I have the same emotional connection to getting Leeds supporters what they deserve,” he added.
TBR View: Leeds unquestionably still moving in right direction
Leeds have certainly showed a lot of ambition in their first few months back at English football’s top table. They signed a number of international players, while also bringing in several incredibly bright youngsters.
They have received a lot of plaudits for the way that they are playing. And in Bielsa, Leeds fans know they have a coach who is not going to deviate from what has brought the side so much success.
It remains to be seen if they can progress further to get back onto the European stage. But there is no question that they are continuing to move in the right direction.
