Paraag Marathe has insisted that he is pretty relaxed about talk over Marcelo Bielsa’s future with Leeds United, and expressed his hope that the boss will stay beyond this season – in comments reported by The Telegraph.
With Leeds in a strong position in the Premier League, thoughts appear to be starting to turn towards the future of the head coach.

As reported by The Telegraph, he has dealt in one-year deals since his arrival at Elland Road. So once again, there is a little uncertainty surrounding Bielsa’s situation.
The Argentinian has been an inspired appointment for the Whites. Leeds play some of the most exciting football in the Premier League. And as already mentioned, they look to be on course to remain at English football’s top table for another year.

Marathe – who recently became the club’s vice-chairman – has been asked whether Bielsa will stay. And while he suggested that agreeing fresh terms is not down to him, he did make it clear who he wants to be in charge next season.
“I’m going to leave that to Andrea,” he said, as reported by The Telegraph, when asked if Bielsa is going to stay. “He [Radrizzani] is the leader of this club and hopefully he can figure out a way to get it done.
“Whether or not you have a long contract with a player, with a coach or a staff member, every year you are almost negotiating, every year you are making sure the relationship works both ways because you never want indentured servitude.
“You never want a situation where somebody doesn’t want to be there, and you are just holding them to their contract. I’m pretty relaxed about the situation, I hope he stays.”
TBR View: Bielsa’s Leeds yet to reach ceiling
There is a sense that Leeds are yet to hit their ceiling under Bielsa. The Whites are now back in the top flight and have continued to win admirers with their style.
So if Bielsa was to leave in the summer, there would certainly be a feeling of what if about his time at the club.
But Leeds fans will surely take some encouragement that Marathe’s comments may hint that they will not have to worry about life after Bielsa for some time yet.
