Palace battling West Ham for Arsenal star, but Palace fans really don't want him
Crystal Palace are reportedly battling West Ham and Lyon in the race to sign Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette – but Palace fans are not so keen.
Lacazette, 30, is out of contract next June. It means that the Gunners might make him available for transfer in January, in order to bring in some cash.
He is struggling to break into the starting line-up at Arsenal of late, managing just one outing in the Premier League – a 5-0 loss to Man City.
Instead, he has been playing in the Carabao Cup for Arsenal – scoring against West Brom and Wimbledon with the Gunners in the fourth round.
But a report from 90Min claims that there is interest in his services ahead of the January window. West Ham, Palace and old side Lyon want him.
West Ham and Palace represents a chance to keep Lacazette in London, while Lyon gives the France international an opportunity to return.
What are Palace fans saying about Arsenal star Lacazette?
Lacazette is obviously a proven goalscorer at this level. He has scored a hatful, 50 in 129 Premier League games – and 67 in 173 in all competitions.
Palace did need a striker, with Christian Benteke struggling to score the amount of goals required for Palace. Odsonne Edouard has been signed.
He got a brace on debut and that has massively lessened the need to sign another striker. But Patrick Vieira is intent on bringing Lacazette to Palace.
Could Vieira raid his old side for the powerful forward? Well, Palace fans would rather he avoided signing the Arsenal man in January.
