‘Pain’: Some fans of PL club gutted as their 19-year-old is linked with Rangers
Rangers are reportedly set to sign Manchester United prospect Charlie McCann this summer – and some fans of the Premier League club appear to be gutted with the transfer news.
The Daily Record claims Gers manager Steven Gerrard is poised to bring the 19-year-old talent to Ibrox. He’s hopeful he can secure the capture in time for this weekend’s first league match, as they kickstart the defence of their title.
In addition, Manchester Evening News agrees that McCann is closing in on a move to the Scottish champions after a deal was agreed. They report Rangers are going to pay a fee that could rise to £750,000 for the teenager. Also, it states that the Irishman will initially join the Rangers B team, with plans to promote him to the seniors next year.
Man United fans raging at Charlie McCann exit should thrill Rangers
A selection of Man United supporters on social media feel they are making a mistake allowing McCann to leave Old Trafford because he’s an upcoming star.
He’s a defensive midfielder that started the final 11 games of last season for the Red Devils’ Under-23s team.
They have traditionally had some amazing young talents come through their youth system. However, it looks like Rangers are about to snap one of them up.
Likewise, Rangers are willing to hand youngsters a chance. A year adjusting to life in Scotland appears to be the plan though before meeting the main group.
