'Pain', 'knew it was gonna happen': Some fans resign themselves to Leeds-linked £15m attacking ace leaving
Leeds United are reportedly eyeing Matheus Pereira, a player who looks set to change clubs this summer.
However, Leeds weren’t the only club linked – the likes of Leicester and RB Leipzig were also apparently eyeing Pereira.
He’d fit in well at Elland Road, as he can feature on the flanks or as a No. 10, and is Premier League proven.
A June report from TEAMtalk claimed Leeds – or other suitors – could potentially snap Pereira up for as little as £15m.
The 25-year-old was one of few bright sparks for West Brom last season, shining despite relegation from the Premier League.
“Not a secret”
Now, new Baggies boss Valerien Ismael has made it clear he expects Pereira to leave this summer.
“It’s not a secret that Sam Johnstone and Matheus Pereira can maybe leave the club,” the Express & Star quotes him as saying.
“It’s my expectation that they (will) leave.”
And while some West Brom fans are pleased to hear such an honest reply, others are nonetheless upset about the prospect of their departure.

This is all basically confirming they are going and we won’t get the money to replace them still in the will have to bring as many academy players through as we can— Liam (@Liam50895808) July 5, 2021
Great, so that’s peierea gone, he could and most probley will be the difference of going up or not.— Saul Sanders (@SaulSanders8) July 5, 2021
