'Pain', 'I blame Sancho': Some City supporters fume as fan favourite is set to miss Euro 2020 final

Manchester City star Phil Foden looks set to miss tonight’s Euro 2020 final with England after picking up a foot injury in training.

According to the Sun, the Premier League winning attacker did not train yesterday ahead of this evening’s massive match at Wembley Stadium.

However, the injury Foden sustained isn’t a serious one, and the winger should be back for pre-season for City. The 20-year-old has hardly featured for England this tournament despite an excellent campaign under Pep Guardiola.

Foden was named PFA Young Player of the Year last season and was instrumental to City’s Premier League and League Cup wins. The winger was also key to the Manchester giants run to the UEFA Champions League final.

The youngster started the opening game of the tournament against Croatia. However, this has so far been Foden’s only start in Euro 2020. The winger played in just three of the six games.

And City fans on social media were fuming about the news that their star player will be out of the biggest game in England’s history since 1966.

Here’s what some England fans had to say on Twitter about Foden being rule out for tonight’s match against Italy…
