Pablo Hernandez sends message on Instagram to Leeds fans

Pablo Hernandez has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to a contingent of Leeds United supporters who went to watch Castellon on Saturday.

What’s the story?

This weekend was notable for most Leeds fans as it marked the first time that the Whites have won in the Premier League this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side produced a superb performance to beat Watford 1-0 at Elland Road to move out of the bottom three.

But for some, Saturday also provided an opportunity to watch Hernandez in person for the first time since he left in the summer.

The 36-year-old was named in the Castellon starting lineup for their clash with Barcelona B. And like Leeds, the Orelluts were looking to move themselves away from the lower ends of the table.

In support, a number of Leeds fans attended the game, with Hernandez’s wife taking to Twitter ahead of the fixture to laud them.

It proved to be a worthwhile trip. Castellon won 2-0 and Hernandez played a key role in the opening goal.

And following the game, Hernandez took to social media to send a message to those who came along…

Castellon is now the second side for a lot of Leeds fans following Pablo Hernandez move

Hernandez probably did not need a further reminder of how loved he is around Leeds.

No single player did more to take the Whites back to the Premier League than the magician.

Obviously, his spell did not end in the ideal way. But his departure clearly did not mark the end of his relationship with fans.

Many have been following Castellon from afar since his move. And Saturday is unlikely to be the last time Leeds fans make up a decent portion of the crowd at one of their games.
