Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa have parted ways as the love story between the Argentinian and the Elland Road club comes to an end.

Bielsa and Leeds mutually agreed to end the experienced manager’s spell in charge after the Whites were once again hammered at the weekend. Tottenham were the team to put the final dagger in for Bielsa, who will leave West Yorkshire a legend.

Of course, we’ve already seen a number of Leeds players offer up their reaction to Bielsa leaving. Players like Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Joe Gelhardt have all posted on social media. And following those players was former Leeds hero Hernandez, who took time out on his own Instagram page to say thanks to Bielsa.

Hernandez was one of the key players for Bielsa at Leeds, especially as they finally won promotion from the Championship back in 2020.

The little midfielder was, like Bielsa, adored at Elland Road. He scored crucial goals in that promotion winning season and contributed in the first Premier League year before leaving in the summer of 2021.

Clearly, Bielsa has left a mark on every Leeds player he’s managed, with Hernandez amongs them.

TBR’s View: Bielsa And Hernandez Are Leeds Legends

You’ll be hard pushed in recent times to find two more popular figures than Hernandez and Bielsa. Both have had a huge impact at Elland Road and both will be remembered fondly.

Hernandez sending a message to Bielsa here is a nice touch. The Spaniard was clearly a fan of the now ex-Leeds boss and can probably credit Bielsa with giving him some of his best years.
