Pablo Hernandez has explained that he loves working with Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa, but was surprised that he made the move to Elland Road.

Bielsa is taking charge of his second season in charge at Elland Road and he’s already become a colossal favourite with supporter.s

The 64-year-old manager has turned the Whites into a team that play an eye-catching style of football with their domination of possession and offensive style, even if their finishing does let them down at times.

He’s an experienced man that has taken charge at the likes of Lille, Lazio, Marseille  and Athletic Bilbao in the past.

The Argentine has also coached his national side, as well as a stint with South American rivals Chile.

Leeds playmaker Hernandez can’t speak highly enough of the manager and is amazed that the club were able to pull him in.

The 34-year-old is one of the key players on the pitch for Bielsa and his return from injury can’t come soon enough.

“Everybody feels that Marcelo is a special manager. He’s a special person. Myself and my team-mates feel this every day in the training ground and in the matches,”  Hernandez said, as quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post.

“I think, for me, it’s a surprise that he came here. When I started to work with him, sometimes you think you have experience, you’re an old player and you know everything in football. You can watch and see this isn’t true.

“At 33 and 34, I can still learn new things in football and this is why it is a great experience for me to work with him.”

TBR’s View:

Leeds fans know they have someone special at the helm in Bielsa and that’s why they are enjoying every second of the ride with him.

It seems unlikely that he will stick around for the long-term and promotion has to be achieved this season, but the group of players are good enough to seal a top-flight return.

The Whites currently sit third in the Championship table just two points from the top and have a big advantage over most teams with mastermind Bielsa in charge.

He gives so much attention to detail in the pitch and the Leeds player can get over the line for promotion if they stick to his blueprint.
