Pablo Fornals posts on Instagram after agreeing West Ham move, Santi Cazorla reacts
Pablo Fornals has completed a £25million move to West Ham United from Villarreal, becoming the east London club’s third signing of the summer – and Santi Cazorla has reacted to his Instagram post.
Fornals, 23, starred for Villarreal last season, clocking up an enormous 50 appearances in all competitions. He scored five goals and laid on six assists, earning a place in the Spain national team.
The Hammers were after a midfielder after long-term injuries to Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez left Manuel Pellegrini with just Pedro Obiang, Mark Noble and Declan Rice left as midfield options.
But the addition of Fornals gives Pellegrini another option and the attacking midfielder reacted to his move on Instagram, underlining his delight to move to London. Arsenal icon Cazorla wished him luck.
His comment is translated as: “Good luck Pablo”.
TBR’s view
Fornals will take West Ham to the next level. For £25million, West Ham have pulled off a major coup in bringing the Spaniard to the London Stadium.
Not only will he dramatically improve West Ham’s squad, but Fornals is the kind of ambitious signing that will tempt the likes of Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini to remain with the Hammers.
It remains to be seen if Fornals can adapt to the Premier League, but his performances in the Europa League and La Liga are more than enough proof to show he can shine in claret and blue.
