Pablo Fornals explains how he got tired of waiting for Napoli
West Ham United snapped up Pablo Fornals from Villarreal earlier this month. As reported by The Guardian, the Hammers paid a fee of £24 million for the Spanish under-21 international.
Last night he showed just why West Ham were willing to spend so big with a stunning strike as Spain’s under-21s defeated Belgium at the European under-21 Championships.

After the game he spoke to the Italian media, who seemed to have one question for him – why not Napoli?
The Partenopei were heavily linked with the player for the past six months and looked close to signing him in January.
Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, Fornals made it clear that Napoli’s indecision over a potential move cost them the chance to secure his services.
“Napoli were interested, there was contact, but they didn’t decide and I, therefore, had to think about continuing my career looking for new challenges.”
West Ham will certainly be pleased with that indecision. Manager Manuel Pellegrini and director of football Mario Husillos showed no such hesitance and moved in on Fornals quickly this summer.
It seems that certainly appealed to the 23-year-old who will now be hoping to become a star in the West Ham midfield.
