Oxford fans react to reported Leeds interest in Cameron Brannagan

Leeds United are reportedly interested in midfielder Cameron Brannagan – and some Oxford United fans on Twitter have insisted that they don’t want to lose their player.

According to the Telegraph, Championship side Leeds are eyeing Brannagan from League One outfit Oxford.

It is understood that Oxford manager Karl Robinson wants to keep the 23-year-old for the rest of the campaign, but is braced for offers during the January transfer window.

Brannagan is a highly-rated talent impressing in League One this campaign and looks capable of playing at a higher level.

The central midfielder has scored seven goals in 24 games across all competition this season and is a key player.

He previously came through the academy ranks at Liverpool as a youngster and has been playing first-team football at Oxford since joining them in 2018.

A selection of Oxford fans on social media have got very defensive over speculation in their midfield maestro.

Leeds have eyes on Brannagan due to his form and he would add some extra depth in the centre of the park if he ended up at Elland Road.

He previously played seven first-team games for Liverpool and is a skilful midfielder with a great work-rate too.
