Owen Hargreaves has told BT Sport’s Early Kick-Off (Episode 35) that Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz is “tailor-made” for Liverpool, amid reported interest from the red half of Merseyside.
Havertz, 20, has enjoyed another excellent season at Leverkusen – having a hand in 18 goals during 34 league and cup appearances. He has found the back of the net 10 times, and laid on another eight assists in that time.
The Express have claimed that Jurgen Klopp has identified the seven-time Germany international as his main priority this summer, while The Independent state that Leverkusen want an enormous £80million for Havertz.
Hargreaves, who played for Bayern Munich – a club that are being linked with Havertz – claimed that the young attacker is perfect for Liverpool and reckons Jurgen Klopp would be the ideal tutor for the exciting prospect.
“It is difficult finding a player that can break into the Liverpool team, but Kai Havertz is tailor-made for that club. He is such a special player. I think Jurgen Klopp would be the best tutor he could have,” Hargreaves said.

TBR’s view – Would Havertz break into Liverpool side?
Certainly not to begin with. Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino represent one of the best attacking threesomes in world football at the moment, if not the best. However, in a season or two, that could change.
The trio cannot remain one of the best for much longer than that and Klopp will have to freshen up his front three in order to keep Liverpool competitive. Signing Havertz now will see him learn the Liverpool way, and be perfect when the time is right.
