Owen Hargreaves says reported Manchester City target 'makes the best teams in the world even better'
Reported Manchester City target Harry Kane “makes the best teams in the world even better”, according to Owen Hargreaves.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been heavily linked with a move this summer, and the Citizens are said to be planning talks with Spurs over his signature, as reported by The Guardian.
Earlier this month, Kane spoke to Gary Neville on The Overlap and described Kevin De Bruyne as a “special, special player” whose deliveries are “a striker’s dream”.
Unsurprisingly, the England captain’s comments have fuelled speculation linking him with a move to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.
Kane has become only the third player in Premier League history to claim the Golden Boot and finish with the most assists in the same season as he added a 23rd goal to his tally in Tottenham’s 4-2 win over Leicester.
“Credit to Harry Kane. One of the best players in the world,” Hargreaves said on Optus Sport.
“Most goals, most assists in any season in the Premier League. That is an incredible individual achievement. He deserves to play for the biggest trophies. He makes the best teams in the world even better.
“He’ll be a big blow but if they lose him, they’ve got to get a lot of money and get the next Harry Kane because that is a huge rebuilding job.”
The best striker in the world, one of the very best players in world football, seemingly eager to move and reportedly on the radar of one of the best teams in the world – we’ve got ourselves a top transfer saga on our hands.
Kane has earned so much praise in recent years that he deserves nothing less than the opportunity to win silverware every season – and what better club to do it than Pep Guardiola’s City?
