Manchester United’s abysmal start to the season continued at the weekend.

Indeed, the Red Devils were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday to pile more misery onto Ruben Amorim.

Amorim is now under serious pressure at Old Trafford, and things need to improve.

Speaking on Stadium Astro, Owen Hargreaves has been dissecting this game, and he actually shared some sympathy for one Manchester United player.

Indeed, Hargreaves says that while he didn’t see much from Benjamin Sesko on the day, he ultimately felt sorry for the striker.

Owen Hargreaves felt sorry for Benjamin Sesko

Hargreaves spoke about United’s performance at the Etihad.

The pundit says that he actually felt sorry for Benjamin Sesko during this game, while he also reserved some praise for Kobbie Mainoo, claiming that the midfielder did give United a bit of something extra when he came on.

Sesko has only recently joined Manchester United, and he’s yet to score his first Premier League goal for the club.

Sesko has in fact been criticised for a number of his performances so far.

“Sesko. I didn’t see much, I felt a bit sorry for him. I thought they looked better when Kobbie came on. I think Kobbie gave them something, but Man City are the better team at the moment, that’s a fact,” Hargreaves said.

Hargreaves says he didn’t see much from Sesko on the day, and he’s not wrong.

Indeed, the Slovenian was largely invisible for most of this game, aside from one good chance.

The stats show just how absent Sesko was for most of this match.

Unfortunately, a striker can often only be as good as the service he receives, and with the other 10 United players around him struggling to get a foothold in the game, it’s no surprise to see Sesko struggling to make much of an impact.

Sesko was tipped for big things before joining United, and, hopefully, he’ll still be able to make good on that potential.
