Aston Villa have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season.
The Villans are mounting an assault on the top four, and, in all honesty, they look good value to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Unai Emery’s side have been utterly brilliant, and while everyone is fawning over the team as a whole, some of the individuals in the side perhaps aren’t getting the credit they deserve.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Owen Hargreaves has been discussing Aston Villa’s recent showings, and he says that Ollie Watkins is indeed one of the most underrated players in the Premier League.

Ollie Watkins is underrated
Hargreaves shared his verdict on the £28m striker.
“Everything really, Unai Emery. The goalkeeper, the back four is really solid. It’s probably the most underrated midfield in the Premier League. Ollie Watkins is one of the most underrated players in terms of goalscorers, in terms of creators. I don’t think they have a bad player in their side anymore,” Hargreaves said.
One of the best
Hargreaves is spot on, Watkins is very underrated.
Most people do rate Watkins as a player, but he really should be discussed as one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
His numbers speak for his ability, he’s one of the top scorers and one of the top assisters in the league while playing for Aston Villa.
His finishing has come on leaps and bounds, and his creativity has stepped up a few levels too since Unai Emery’s arrival at Villa Park.
The England international is genuinely one of the best strikers in the world right now, and he should be respected as such.
