Ruben Amorim is the new Manchester United manager, and there’s bound to be change afoot at Old Trafford.
Indeed, any new manager comes with new ideas, and, more often than not, that means new signings.
Erik ten Hag made plenty of signings at United that were clearly his choice as the Red Devils signed former Ajax player after former Ajax player.
Speaking on Premier League Productions, Owen Hargreaves has been discussing this dawning of the new era at Old Trafford, and the pundit says that United need to sign a new striker and a new centre-back for their new manager.

The two signings Manchester United need to make
Hargreaves has claimed that Amorim needs a new striker and a new centre-back.
Sam Allardyce tipped Harry Maguire to step up under Amorim, but Hargreaves still believes United need another centre-half.
“I don’t know, I think he needs a striker and I think he needs a centre-back,” Hargreaves said.
“I think they need a striker and I think they need a centre-back to go along with the players they have but I’m just excited I think we just needed a change and this is a brilliant change and I’m sure he’s going to want to spend some money.”
Who could Ruben Amorim sign?
It’s interesting that Hargreaves has suggested that United need a new centre-back and a new striker.
Indeed, if there’s anything Amorim could go and raid his former club, Sporting CP, for, it’s centre-backs and strikers.
Viktor Gyokeres has been brilliant for Sporting in recent times, while Goncalo Inacio and Ousmane Diomande are fantastic young prospects at the back.
Gyokeres is expected to stay at Sporting in January, however, that hasn’t stopped links between United and the striker.
Gyokeres, Inacio, Morten Hjulmand and Geovany Quenda have all been linked with a move to United from Sporting, and this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
United often signed players Ten Hag knew well, and it will be interesting to see if that trend continues under Amorim as the Red Devils move into this new era under their new gaffer.
