Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keen on Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz – and Owen Hargreaves has given a verdict that will excite fans.
Wirtz, 18, is incredible form at this early stage of the season. Coming into 21-22, he had nine goals and eight assists in 47 Leverkusen games.
But his stats have gone to a new level this term. Playing seven times, he already has six goals and four assists – netting against Celtic on Thursday.
A report from the Mirror claims both Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all keeping tabs on Germany international Wirtz.
Speaking after Wirtz’s goal in Leverkusen’s 4-0 win over Celtic, Hargreaves was full of praise for him – and expected him to leave, “like Kai Havertz”.

“The next big thing from Germany, in place of Kai Havertz. He plays from the right, as a 10, technically exceptional, a goalscorer.
“Leverkusen have great talent, but they eventually leave – like Kai Havertz did – because they don’t win anything,” Hargreaves told BT Sport.
Hargreaves on Wirtz: Arsenal and Liverpool might have to spend big
Spanish newspaper AS report that Bayern Munich are also keen, but clubs will have to pay an enormous £86million to get the teenager.
While Wirtz is a proper talent, it would require club-record transfers to get the teenage star. Havertz, of course, cost similar at Chelsea – £70million.
Do we see Arsenal breaking their club-record fee, with that currently standing at £72million for Nicolas Pepe? Unlikely.
But they have more chance of spending big on Wirtz than Liverpool do, who only bought Ibrahima Konate in the summer. Time will tell.
