Ovie Ejaria scored his first goal for Reading on Saturday to help his side to a draw.
In a Championship relegation battle, Reading hosted Rotherham United and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Ejaria opened the scoring with his first strike since his January move to Reading, finishing off a fine team move in the first half.
But the central midfielder still faces a battle to ensure he has a future at Liverpool, despite signing a new long-term deal in the summer.
The 21-year-old moved to Rangers, where he played 14 times in the league with mixed success in Scotland.
Ejaria decided to terminate his loan move and return to England, before joining the Royals on loan for the remainder of the season.
At the moment, the England youth international is a long way off being first-team ready.
There are a number of top central midfielders at Anfield and Ejaria might struggle to break past them next season.
But with newfound confidence after scoring for Reading, he could play a starring role in their survival bid and bolster his chances of featuring in Jurgen Klopp’s plans.
The battle for Ejaria is to build on his Saturday performance and live up to his potential to ensure he has a future at Liverpool.
