‘Overrated anyway’: Liverpool fans react as Gini Wijnaldum apparently rejects contract

 Liverpool fans have been discussing the future of Gini Wijnaldum, after reports emerged the Dutchman will not be signing a new deal with the Reds.

The experienced midfielder has been a regular and integral part of Liverpool’s success under Jurgen Klopp but appears to have his eyes on a move to Barcelona when his deal – worth a reported £75k-a-week – expires in the summer.

Wijnaldum’s decision is a bitter blow for the Reds, who were hoping to keep one of the midfielders who has become a mainstay under Klopp.

Liverpool fans, then, have been having their say on the issue on social media, with Twitte awash with comments from supporters who are a bit perplexed with what they’re seeing.

And while some are sad to see Wijnaldum leave, it appears there is a consensus that nobody is bigger than the club and if the Dutchman wants out, then so be it.
