Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to express his delight after Tottenham Hotspur announced that Ryan Mason will take a first-team coaching role under Antonio Conte.
Conte, of course, is set to take charge of Spurs for the first time on Thursday. The Italian will watch his side face Vitesse in the Europa Conference League.

It looks to be an incredibly exciting move for Tottenham. And it appears that the club have looked to ensure that there will be a familiar face amongst those in Conte’s team.
Tottenham have confirmed on their official website that Mason will be involved. It comes just a few months after the 30-year-old enjoyed a spell as interim boss in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s departure, taking charge of the team for the Carabao Cup final.

Mason’s stint highlighted that the former Spurs midfielder is not quite ready for management. However, there were certainly times when he staked a genuine claim to get a longer go as boss.
Conte including Mason in his team certainly opens the door for the latter to take his coaching attributes to the next level.

It looks to be another smart move from the decision-makers at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And one club legend who has given the appointment his backing is Roberts.
