‘Outstanding’: Some Wolves fans hail £50k-a-week ace’s ‘brilliant’ display despite loss to Everton
A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to praise Ruben Neves’ display in Tuesday night’s Premier League defeat at Molineux.
Wolves went a goal down to Everton after just six minutes as Lucas Digne set up Alex Iwobi to fire home from 12 yards out, via a slight deflection from Conor Coady.
However, the hosts equalised in the 14th minute as Rayan Ait-Nouri surged down the left and fired the ball across for Neves to produce a composed finish on the volley.

Wolves looked the more likely to edge the contest but Everton went back in front on 77 minutes as Andre Gomes retrieved James Rodriguez’s corner and whipped the ball back in for Michael Keane to head home.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s charges, who were hoping to grab just their second win in eight games weighed in with 12 efforts throughout the game but only three were on target and this cost them as they finished the game empty-handed.
Neves looked a cut above during the game and was undoubtedly the best player in old gold, weighing in with numerous chances besides his goal, and also struck the top of Jordan Pickford’s net with a fierce volleyed attempt.
Here is what some Wolves fans said about the £50,000-a-week man’s display on the night:
Neves was outstanding tonight. No way did he deserve to be on a losing side tonight. #wwfc

If you play 4 at the back you need proper centre backs not coady and Saiss. The both give there all but not good enough.
Neves the best player on the pitch by a mile and imagine if dendoncker could finish. He would be amazing #wwfc
