Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the signing of Leander Dendoncker on a permanent basis. The midfielder was on loan last season with an obligation to buy.

Dendoncker has now completed his permanent move to Wolves after leaving Anderlecht. And after an impressive first season in England, this is good news for Wolves fans.

It took Dendoncker a while to settle in at Molineux. Nuno Espirito Santo used the Belgium international sparingly for the first few months but he soon became a regular fixture in the line-up.

Dendoncker played 26 games last season, scoring two goals. Operating predominantly as a central midfielder, he impressed fans with his box-to-box displays.

The 24-year-old can also play as a central defender or at right-back, making him a useful versatile option for Nuno. And now he is a permanent Wolves player as they head into the new season with a Europa League campaign to focus on.

Wolves fans flocked to Twitter after Dendoncker signed for the club. Here are some of the best tweets discussing Dendoncker’s permanent return to the West Midlands.
