Siriki Dembele, a player linked with Glasgow Rangers and Celtic back in winter, has made it into Whoscored’s English League One Team of the Season.
Both the Ibrox outfit and the Parkhead club were said to be keen on the 24-year-old going into the January window.
Peterborough director Barry Fry told the Scottish Sun in December that Rangers were watching Dembele.

A month earlier, Teamtalk claimed that Celtic were preparing a move for the exciting attacker.
Nothing came of the reported interest and, six months on, Dembele has helped Posh earn promotion to the English Championship by finishing second in the table.
Dembele, who registered 11 goals and 12 assists from 42 League One games as well as a goal in the EFL Trophy, made the cut for Whoscored’s TOTS thanks to his efforts this term.
“Peterborough’s Dembele was the only player to register double figures for both goals (11) and assists (10) in League One this season as he played a pivotal role in the Posh’s successful promotion campaign,” wrote Whoscored, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“The 24-year-old managed to ghost past opponents with ease as he completed at least 50 more dribbles (135) than any other player.”
TBR View:
So many talented players have made their mark at Peterborough over the years and gone on to big things, and a player who ends the season with 24 goal contributions should certainly be looked at by clubs like Rangers and Celtic.
The versatile attacker, who can play across the front line, is only contracted to Posh until next summer, but the club is reportedly planning to offer him a new deal, so the Gers and the Hoops would need to move fast – or gear themselves up to pay more.
