Liverpool usually keep their cards close to their chest in the transfer market and have shown over the years that they won’t be forced into spending the big bucks.
Federico Chiesa was the only player who walked through the door at Anfield in the summer transfer window, although the Reds did reach an agreement in principle to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia in 2025.
Other players like Martin Zubimendi were linked with Liverpool, but a transfer never materialized as he opted to stay at his boyhood club.
Jonathan Tah is another player who has keen admirers at Anfield, with Bayern Munich also linked with the German international.
Amid speculation surrounding his future, the Bayer Leverkusen man has finally confirmed that he will not be at the club next season.

Jonathan Tah confirms desire to leave amid Liverpool interest
As relayed by Fabrizio Romano on X, Tah has confirmed that he will not renew his current contract at Leverkusen which is set to expire next summer.
“I’m not gonna sign a new deal at Bayer Leverkusen. My decision is been made.
“I will give my best until the end here and then we will see about my future club. But my decision is to go and try a different experience.”
With Tah set to be available on a free transfer, teams across the continent will be lining up to snap him up after the turn of the year.
Tah could be an opportunistic signing for Liverpool
Liverpool have always kept an eye on market opportunities, with the signings of Mamardashvili and Chiesa falling in that category.
Tah has played over 350 games for Leverkusen and also has 29 caps for Germany, making him an intriguing option in the transfer market.
Liverpool refrained from dipping into the market for a central defender after Joel Matip’s departure, but with the 28-year-old set to become available next summer, they could look to make a move for him.
Tah has been described as an ‘outstanding’ defender by the Bundesliga’s official website and is set to emerge as a wanted man in the coming months.
Whether or not Liverpool make a move for him, however, remains to be seen.
