Chris Sutton has shot down suggestions that Tottenham Hotspur missing out on the top four would be deemed a ‘failure’ for Ange Postecoglou.
The Aussie boss has quickly won over Spurs supporters after not exactly being the favoured candidate before he arrived last summer.
Ange Postecoglou’s start to life at Tottenham couldn’t have gone much better as he had them sitting top of the Premier League and undefeated after 10 games played.

Things have been more testing for the former Celtic boss since, with injuries to several key players disrupting Spurs’ momentum.
Postecoglou still has his side in with a chance of finishing inside the top four, despite recent concerns over their performances on the pitch.
But with Tottenham currently five points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, with a game in hand, Chris Sutton believes Spurs fans are ‘really happy’ with where they are right now, regardless of where they end up come May.
Sutton stunned after Tottenham and Postecoglou suggestion
Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off, presenter Ian Ladyman posed a question to Sutton about Postecoglou and Spurs.
“Despite all the fuss about Postecoglou and Tottenham, despite the entertainment, they are fifth at the minute – five points behind Villa with a game in hand,” he said.
“If they didn’t end the season in the Champions League positions would that be a failure for Postecoglou given the way they have started?”
“Honestly a failure? A failure? Failure is outrageous,” Sutton responded. “Where did Tottenham finish last season? How are we viewing progress?
“I’m not saying you are saying this but the thing with Tottenham, I’m not angry about it, but are people quick to forget what he took over, who he lost, where Tottenham were last season and the brand of football they were playing.
“All of a sudden people have become used to this brand of football [and saying] but they are conceding goals on the counter and leaving themselves wide open but this is what it is, it’s the way Postecoglou plays and putting all things into the equation I think Tottenham fans are really happy about where they are.”

Sutton makes a great point that many seem to have forgotten the mess Postecoglou inherited over the summer.
The Aussie took over a club where the disconnect between the fans and players was apparent.
Spurs finished eighth in the Premier League last term, missing out on Europe for the first time since the 2008-09 campaign.
Postecoglou also lost a player who many view as the best striker in world football, Harry Kane, just weeks after taking charge.
Despite this, Postecoglou has rallied the supporters behind the players once again and Spurs seem to be heading in the right direction.
While there are bound to be more bumps in the road along the way, Tottenham seem to have found their ideal manager in Postecoglou and will do well to stick by him.
