Leeds United defender Luke Ayling is going through a difficult period right now and has seen his form completely abandon him at a crucial point of the season.
The 27-year-old right-back has struggled since returning from injury late in December and is becoming a major weak point in Marcelo Bielsa’s team.
His poor form was highlighted in the 1-0 defeat to Norwich City at the weekend, which saw Leeds drop down to second in the Championship table behind the Canaries.
Ayling is becoming defensively vulnerable, while he’s rash in possession and is failing to provide much quality going forward from the full-back area.
Ayling should take a leaf out of the book of Norwich defender Max Aarons, who was the outstanding right-back on display at the weekend at Elland Road.

Aarons, 19, is showing all the tools this season to suggest he can be a successful full-back at the highest level in the future.
The teenager has been immense for Norwich with his pace and driving runs forward, while defensively he was superb against Leeds and made a black off the line.
Aarons’ energy in wide areas is an impressive feature of Norwich’s team and something that Leeds need to try mirror.
Ayling has shown earlier in the season he can be the modern day full-back Bielsa is searching for, but needs to cut out the sloppy mistakes and could learn a thing from Norwich’s Aarons.
