Jean-Kevin Augustin has posted on Instagram after making his second substitute appearance for Leeds United in the space of three days during the Whites’ 1-1 draw with Brentford at Griffin Park – and a Barcelona star has reacted.
Much has been made about January signing Augustin’s involvement, with Patrick Bamford struggling up top. In a press conference before Tuesday night’s tie, Bielsa stated that Augustin will only start when he is fit and has learnt the Bielsa way.
The France Under-21 international has since played twice for the Under-23 side and twice as a substitute for the first team. He showed some nice touches on Tuesday night during his 15-minute cameo, but failed to open his account.
The RB Leipzig loanee posted on Instagram after the match with an upbeat message for Leeds fans, telling the supporters that the side are “not letting go” and that they are staying “strong” with the club still in second place in the Championship table.
Leeds now return to Elland Road on Saturday, but take on another club with promotion aspirations in Bristol City – who sit in seventh place and level on points with Preston North End, who are currently in the last play-off place.
Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele, who cost the La Liga giants £135.5million (BBC) in 2017 and has played alongside Augustin for France’s youth sides, responded to Augustin’s Instagram post – commenting “come on Leeds”.
Ian Poveda and Liam Cooper also responded.
